- AIM**: *To learn important safety strategies based on a case study.*
The case study is based on the explosions and fire caused while restarting a hydrocarbon isomerization unit at BP's Texas City refinery in 2005. More background is available on the `CSB website <http://www.csb.gov/investigations/detail.aspx?SID=20>`_.
You may prefer to print and bring your own copy of the tutorial PDF in colour. Limited black/white copies will be available though in class on Monday.
There is a safety workshop directly after the tutorial, which will be graded as pass/fail. Please be at the tutorial 5 minutes before so we can start and finish the assignment within the 2-hour time period.
